I am slowly decorating my DC apartment and now that I have the basics in place, am looking to add finishing touches. I love this part of the renovation process. I can now enjoy buying things and piecing together all of my current furniture so that I can truly make this apartment my home. My friends have been giving me some great advice along the way, like which Wireless alarm I should look into for added security purposes. They told me that it can help to secure my windows and doors, and as my apartment is one of the best ones in the neighborhood, I want to make sure that no one breaks in, as I’d have to start fresh again, and I don’t want that. So, once I get these next few touches out of the way, I’m going to shop around for a security system. I’ve found a few different framed prints that I absolutely love so I’m sure I’ll be buying some of those next. The artwork I have at the minute is a little dull and boring so I’d like a big, bold piece above my bed. The next purchase I plan to make is a headboard, specifically, a tufted style headboard. After living in a studio apartment for two years, I’m excited to live in a space that has enough room for a full-sized bed with a statement headboard. Since I used to sleep on a daybed, I had to buy myself a new mattress when I moved in, and let me tell you, I sleep so much better now than I did before. It’s crazy! I spent quite a while deciding which mattress to buy but this great review of the wonderest mattress helped me make a decision. I sleep so much better now and I’ve stopped having backache so I doubt that I’ll ever go back to a daybed again!! My previous apartment’s daybed was cute and fit perfectly in the space, but it only folded out to look like a normal bed at night because of space constraints. It did look good though with some new bedsheets on from Vision bedding.
Here are a few styles that have caught my eye online.
