Happy New Year! As many others have been doing since January started, I’ve been using the early days of 2017 to map out how I’d like my year to unfold. But unlike I’ve done in previous years, this didn’t involve making resolutions. Instead, I was inspired by blogger, Victoria McGinley to pick a word for the year instead and will direct my intentions toward embodying that word through my actions rather than making a list of resolutions that I’ll promptly forget about by the time Spring comes around.
I’ve decided that my word for the year is: CREATE. I’d like to consider taking guidance from this word in a myriad of ways. I hope in 2017 to create in terms of financial abundance, creation of professional opportunities, creation of fun, creation of rituals and practices around wellness/self-care, and the creation of hobbies/side projects. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m the happiest when I’m creating (for myself and for others). For this year, creating could be as simple as making a meal or could be more involved such as nurturing a side project that I want to evolve into a profitable side hustle. With so much all over the world and in our own backyards to be sad, scared, and worried about, it feels comforting to focus on something I DO have control over like my own happiness, intentions, and productivity.
If you were going to choose a word as a theme for the year, what would it be?
