Like many of us, I spend a decent amount of time on social media these days and sort of treat Instagram as my own personal curated magazine at times. I am still looking at ways that I can improve the number of followers that I have. One option is to use an instagram growth service but I’m undecided at the minute. Although, I know hashtags are a great way for increasing the number of instagram followers you get or the amount of likes you get on your photos, so I suppose that’s a place to start. Read on for a curated list of Instagrammers to follow in the healthy food, healthy lifestyle, wellness, and yoga space. I ran out of space to offer my favorite cannabis/herb enthusiasts in this wellness blogpost. To make it up to you guys I’ve decided to show you where my friend bought her new galaxy bong. Please forgive me!
I’m always on the hunt for a cool yoga studio to try in DC, and this one has been on my list for a while! Classes of note offered are TRAP Yoga and Black Girl Magic (I mean just going on the titles, these classes were basically made for me…). If you too like inspiring feeds that focus on yoga, wellness and self-care for people of color, check out this feed and attend a class if you’re in DC!
Hey Fran Hey may be known more for her YouTube Channel and Podcast, but her IG feed offers up plenty of travel and healthy lifestyle inspiration. I really have to figure out how to make one of her wellness retreats fit in my budget in 2018.
A feed full of delicious healthy plant-based recipes that aren’t crazy complicated or require chef level knowledge. We all get in food ruts, and this feed (and blog) is my go-to place to get recipe healthy recipe inspiration. If you’re more of a print person when it comes to looking for recipes, check out their new book.
Women of color, particularly Black girls often get left out of wellness conversations in the media. So when Black Girl in Om came on my radar a couple of years ago on Instagram, I was so glad to have wellness covered in articles and online content from a perspective I can personally relate to. Black Girl in Om also has a great podcast if you are looking for a great one to add to your podcast queue.
As a nutritionist and wellness advocate, Chelsea gives a bevy of healthy recipes, nutrition, and wellness advice on the regular on her feed and stories. She also gives lots of recommendations on clean/vegan/no toxic beauty products which is great for those of us slowly (like me) who are transitioning to “cleaner” beauty products.
If you are in need for some inspiration for your next wellness centric vacation, definitely check out this feed. If you live close to NYC, you can also attend their local events. HolisticCitiLyfe is also having a day of DC events next month!
There are a bevy of minimalist online influences to be found on Instagram these days, but I can’t say it really resonated with me until I started following Roe of @brownkids. Definitely worth the follow for minimalist and vegan inspiration and couple goals. This is the kind of social media content we should all aspire to replicate, although we may need to get instagram followers for free if we want to try and get anywehere near the size of her audience.
Co-founder of the popular site, @UrbanBushBabes and Founder of @FolieApothecary Brunson offers up a wide array of health and wellness advice on herbs, minerals and much more in her stories and her feed.
