I’m a beauty and skincare loyalist: I find products that work for me and I don’t really deviate. When the seasons change, I evaluate what works and add or subtract things based on the weather: Winter means more moisturizing and trying to add a bit of glow to my skin during these cold winter months. With that in mind, here are the current products in my rotation.
I have normal (to dry) skin and thankfully am not prone to breakouts. As such, I don’t need to do much to keep my skin happy in the winter months. Like many people, I’m not perfect (I could stand to drink more water and I spend way to much time looking at screens). One thing I have wanted to do though was to achieve the glass skin look, which I have seen a lot on social media. It’s all about making the skin look glossy and luminous, which is said to then resemble clear glass. As my skin doesn’t suffer from acne or have skin concerns, I feel like this could be achievable. I also am on the fence with eye creams and if they actually do anything for me personally but I guess as I age they couldn’t hurt to add into my routine. Oil cleansing is a practice that I’ve picked up this year and my skin really seems to respond well to it.

My goal for my daily make-up routine is for it to take as little time as possible. I’m not a zealot about it, but I’m also in the process of my favorite replacing make-up items with non-toxic options. My favorite websites to purchase make-up include: The Detox Market, Credo Beauty, Vivrant Beauty, Whole Foods, and Target.

My hair routine is not very consistent and something I want to work on improving this year. Similar to make-up, it’s another area where I try not to go overboard on products because doing so doesn’t seem to do much for the health of my hair. I’m also all about protective styles this time of year, so I’m on the hunt for additional oils and butters that lock in the moisture in my hair.
