Elevate Your Epsom Salt Baths This Winter

February 2, 2017

Self-care can come in all shapes and forms. One of my favorite, inexpensive ways to practice self-care on a regular basis during the winter months is to take baths. Yes, baths. Many of you may have just finished your bathroom renovation with glass shower direct products and have been making use of your showers, but taking baths can help your body eliminate toxins and relax at the same time. Some people enjoy taking a long cbd bath soak to relax and really take care of their aching muscles, maybe after a strenuous work-out or a long day at work. Take your bath to the next level by using essential oils, which provide antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory benefits, along with common household items like baking soda, Epsom salts can help flush impurities from the body by allowing it to sweat out toxins (source). Epsom salt is also a source of magnesium. Magnesium is found in food sources and can also be assimilated through the skin. Magnesium is responsible for several key biochemical reactions in the body. You may want to use it in the form of Magnesium oil from online stores like Ancient Minerals so you can get a double hit of the health benefits. Although make sure that you are using them in a hot bath so that you can reap the true benefits of the bath salts. This may mean it’s time to service the hot water in your house such as getting hot water systems Brisbane northside provided by Hot Water Brisbane. Here are 3 simple bath salt combos to try to elevate your next Epsom salt bath.

Spring is in the air here in DC at least for the day it’s quite possible it could snow again in a couple days…  But anyway, this time of year always makes me think about the fact that spring is around the corner and for me spring=plants!  I’ve been wanting some hanging planters for ages.  Maybe this spring I’ll finally get/make one (or a few!).  Here is some hanging planter inspiration.

Home Inspiration: Black Bedrooms

January 31, 2016

AphroChic Home Tour

I tend to get focused on a trend I love when it comes to home decor and become a bit obsessed with it. I’ve finally narrowed down the headboard I want, so I’ve moved on to my current obsession: a black bedroom. This is definitely not a new trend, but I’m still loving it. Maybe because it’s wintertime, but I just love a cosy bedroom this time of year. When I walk into my bedroom, I immediately feel relaxed and calm and that’s thanks to my interior decor. It’s also thanks to the new mattress I got when decorating my bedroom. Now, not only is the room inviting, I’m sleeping on a new mattress and getting a great night’s sleep. I can wholeheartedly say that my bedroom is now my favourite room inside my whole home!

I also love having a clean bedroom too! This is why I cherish my vacuum from Bissell. I just signed my lease for another year in my current apartment and am wondering if a cozy black bedroom outweighs the headache of repainting my room white again when I’m ready to move again…It was nice to search for furniture – from somewhere like antiquesworld.co.uk – to fill my bedroom.

Home Inspiration: Tufted Headboard

I am slowly decorating my DC apartment and now that I have the basics in place, am looking to add finishing touches. I love this part of the renovation process. I can now enjoy buying things and piecing together all of my current furniture so that I can truly make this apartment my home. My friends have been giving me some great advice along the way, like which Wireless alarm I should look into for added security purposes. They told me that it can help to secure my windows and doors, and as my apartment is one of the best ones in the neighborhood, I want to make sure that no one breaks in, as I’d have to start fresh again, and I don’t want that. So, once I get these next few touches out of the way, I’m going to shop around for a security system. I’ve found a few different framed prints that I absolutely love so I’m sure I’ll be buying some of those next. The artwork I have at the minute is a little dull and boring so I’d like a big, bold piece above my bed. The next purchase I plan to make is a headboard, specifically, a tufted style headboard. After living in a studio apartment for two years, I’m excited to live in a space that has enough room for a full-sized bed with a statement headboard. Since I used to sleep on a daybed, I had to buy myself a new mattress when I moved in, and let me tell you, I sleep so much better now than I did before. It’s crazy! I spent quite a while deciding which mattress to buy but this great review of the wonderest mattress helped me make a decision. I sleep so much better now and I’ve stopped having backache so I doubt that I’ll ever go back to a daybed again!! My previous apartment’s daybed was cute and fit perfectly in the space, but it only folded out to look like a normal bed at night because of space constraints. It did look good though with some new bedsheets on from Vision bedding.
Here are a few styles that have caught my eye online.
