Happy Saturday! Here’s some reading material to keep you occupied this weekend.

personal style, musings and inspiration
I can’t believe March is over! It really flew by. Here is a round up of my favorites from the month.
Four Sigmatic Coffee – Lions Mane & Chaga – I can’t drink coffee on a daily basis, but when I do drink it at home and not in a coffee shop, I like Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee. If you want to find out more, check out this Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee review!
Vatika Oil (Coconut Hair Oil) – I’ve rediscovered how much I like using Vatika oil as a pre-poo treatment before washing my hair. Vatika Oil is basically coconut oil with Henna and other herbs mixed in that you can purchase from your local Indian Grocery Store or online.
Curls Lavish Curls Spray Moisturizer -I’m always on the hunt for leave in conditioning sprays for refreshing my hair for twisting and styling. This is my current go-to.
Giada Braided Faux Leather Satchel – Sole Society – I’ve given my go-to black tote a rest and am using a gray one in honor of lightening up colors for Spring.
50mm Round Sunglasses Nordstrom I’ve found that round sunglasses suit my face shape, I wore round sunnies like this on my trip earlier this month to Mexico City.
The Kyoto Earrings – One Story – Moorea Seal Store – I’m loving statement gold earrings like these lately. They go with everything and look nice with hairstyles of all types.
Pacifica Island Vanilla Perfume – I’m still on a quest for a signature scent for Spring and Summer, I don’t think this one is the one I’ll land on but I still like it.
River Island Tailored Boy Blazer – Yellow – ASOS – So I don’t have this specific blazer, I actually dyed a blazer myself a bright yellow and have been wearing it regularly this month to brighten up my wardrobe despite the fact that it’s too early in the season to wear my warm weather favorites.
Palo Santo – I’ve taken to lighting some Palo Santo to cleanse the energy of myself and my home on a regular basis.
Earlier this month, I took a birthday trip to Mexico City. It was my first trip to Mexico City meaning that I had to learn the way of the land, but it certainly won’t be my last! If you click here you will find a list of just a couple of etiquette’s I had to learn just to try and fit in with locals. I fell in love with the city for the couple of days I was there. More details on how to plan a trip to Mexico City will follow in a separate post, but read on to see highlights from my trip.
Greetings from Mexico City! I’m wrapping up my birthday trip to Mexico City and am kinda sad to leave this beautiful city and warm temps. More on my travels next week, but here’s some reading material to keep you occupied for the remainder of the weekend.
Today is my Birthday. I’m not where I thought I’d be at this age, but I guess I’m where I’m supposed to be. I feel blessed and grateful for another year on this Earth. Since a birthday is somewhat like a personal new year, it feels right to set some intentions for my year (8 of them since I was born on the 8th day of the month).
1// Set Boundaries and Keep Them. Be intentional about setting up boundaries around my time, energy, and space. The older I get, the more I realize how important boundary setting is.
2// Show Up For People In My Life. It’s really easy (at least for me) to get wrapped up in day-to-day life but I need to remember to check in on my community more to see how they are doing. I’d like to aim for more in-person meet-ups and less phone or text touch-bases this year.
3// Break Down My Goals into Small Manageable Steps. Naturally a big picture thinker, this year, I really want to focus on breaking down my goals into smaller more manageable steps that I can track.
4// Delve More Into Learning About Wellness and Spirituality. I have a long list of books I’ve bookmarked that I want to delve into. But I’d also like to research deepening learning by taking classes and workshops. I feel called to learn more about herbs and yoga in particular.
5// Speak Up For Myself Even If It Feels Uncomfortable. I want to continue to practice activating my Throat Chakra by speaking up for myself and being less shy. It’s not the easiest but so worthwhile. I’d also like to explore more opportunities to speak in front of people because that is something that really makes me feel uncomfortable, but it’s good to do things out of your comfort zone sometimes. FYI that the Throat Chakra is driven by the principle of expression and communication.
6// Travel (Even) More. I enjoy travel and I’d love to manifest more travel opportunities into my life! Here is my 2018 travel destination bucket list but I’d welcome opportunities to travel to numerous places some of which are: Marrakesh, Sydney and Melbourne, Bali, Tokyo, Bahia, Sao Paolo, Lima…I could go on.
7// Balance Discipline with Going with the Flow. I feel like I’ve learned a lot about myself in the last year and recognize that I can be really rigid about specific things like my daily routine, wellness habits, among other things and too flexible around people pleasing practices.
8// Manifest. I believe in setting intentions an manifestation and I look forward to seeing things unfold that I’ve been calling in for all areas of my life from career, to financial, to romantic relationships, and family.
I’m looking forward to great things happening in my personal new year!
